Mecklenburg County to share plans on how it will devote $740K to help those who rely on SNAP

County leaders will hold a news briefing at noon on Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, at the Ella B. Scarborough Community Resource Center on Stitt Road in Charlotte. Among those present will be county manager Mike Bryant, community resources department director Yulonda Griffin, deputy county manager for health and human services Dr. Kimm Campbell, and public health director Dr. Raynard Washington.

The focus of the news briefing will be on how the county government plans to devote $740,000 to support food resources that can help residents who rely on SNAP benefits. Mecklenburg County officials say about 138,500 residents are served monthly by those benefits and have engaged with community and food resource partners to mobilize a plan to ensure families have access to food.
